Orchids, Orchids Everywhere!

I have Spring Fever so bad right now. I am more than ready for some warmth to crawl into our days here in NYC.

And since I’m going to miss our vacation to Barbados this year, at least yesterday’s trip up to the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx satiated some of my desires for a tropical atmosphere, warm, humid, lush with living proof that Mother Nature still believes in us. Had to share some of the exquisite lusciousness of nature’s handiwork, these inimitable orchids inhabiting the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory from now until April 23rd.

So strong. 300+ of the Garden’s trees were destroyed or uprooted during Hurricane Sandy. Many were used as a design element in the show.

  1. I love the Orchid Show! We have gone so many times, and I’m always amazed at how stunning the whole conservatory looks. We didn’t make it this year, but it truly is something to look forward to, especially when spring hasn’t yet sprung in the northeast. 🙂

    • I think you still have time to visit the show, Catherine. I believe it will be there for a couple more weeks? Check it if you can. Of course, you already know the beauty. But somehow this year seemed so much more ethereal. Enjoy if you can make it! xxoo
