Add to your list of East Village must-sees this weekend my friend and colleague, designer Olga Viakhireva, who will be displaying her elegant and delicate Bohemian Bodywear jewelry, a

collection of fine golds, vermeil and sterling adorned with precious gemstones or fashionable crosses, at Gallery Vercon in the East Village this Saturday from 3-8.

Olga’s new charm bracelets and body wear will be a gorgeous holiday wish-list addition for anyone addicted to beautiful, traditional fine jewelry. Her featherweight gold Arm Charm bracelet wraps delicately around one of your middle fingers and extends down to encircle your wrist. You choose your metal – 14k gold with a rose-cut diamond stone retails for under $500, while sterling or 18k gold plated renditions replete with crosses are priced at just over $200.

I’ve know Olga for years. She is a powerhouse fashion talent, having worked with our friend Lila at Chico’s before launching her Moscow-based brand O’La Vi in 2000. The name, O’ La Vi, is a riff on the French phrase C’est la vie, as the designer’s tag line is “Living on the Edge of Style.” Olga not only designs jewelry and clothing; she’s a teacher, imparting her wisdom regarding product development at F.I.T. on Friday’s and she’s promoting the new gorgeous, ornately-embroidered cropped jacket she has on in the photo, above. A fashion statement if there ever was one, the jacket is hand-beaded and hand-embroidered, finished with a printed silk quilted lining. The one-of-a-kind jacket is available in black, white and indigo denim only as a numbered limited edition.

Drop by to see Olga at Gallery Vercon this weekend. And tell her I sent you when you scoop up these delectable must-have wearables!
