J’adore these two, really, I do. Brooklyn-based designers Atsuyo Yang & Akiko Mukae make the sweetest things. Kidswear, accessories, pillows, toys. It doesn’t get much cuter than the adorableness that oozes out of Atsuyo et Akiko’s fabulous slightly-Francophile collections.
There was something for almost everyone at the recent “NY NOW, the Market for Home+Lifestyle” show, especially if you’re about five years old and female. I may fit only half of that demographic (ahem….), but even I have my eye on those glittery totes! They also offer women’s on their website and have home decor items available, too, so if you’re over five years old, don’t despair. There’s always their collaborations with artists like Jess Brown, who dresses her cloth dolls in AetA attire. So elegant, they’re more than dolls, more like collectors’ items.
As an aside, I can’t wait to see Akiko’s latest creation — the recently-born Charlotte — in one of AetA’s perfect tutus. Hearts off to the beautiful Atsuyo and Akiko and another successful collection. As one of their lovely T-shirts or bags might state: Je t’aime!
