And now we’re getting to my most adored parts of “NY NOW, the Market for Home + Lifestyle”: the Javits Center, where the Handmade creativeness is out of control.
Etsy Wholesale staked out prime real estate for 24 designers at the head of the Javits Handmade North section, where we met Moira K. Lime, a designer from my former hometown of Indy, whose Broad Ripple-based botanically-inspired jewelry collection was receiving positive feedback from buyers as we stopped to chat.
From there, we hit the actual Handmade floor, catching up with favorite designers from seasons past, checking out everyone’s most recent work while happening upon new designers who caught our eye. Top ranking? Polly Wales and her new bridal collection of stunning teardrop solitare rings and simply elegant bejeweled bands and bangles. Coral & Tusk‘s linen stockings that are as great for holiday as everyday. Tracey Tanner‘s iridescent metallic leather bags. Swallow‘s dark and lovely creatively-merchandised booth and double shark tooth necklaces. Just Jules‘ bridal collection of antique lockets adorned with gemstone enmeshed chains. Takara‘s modern/retro turquoise lapel stick pin. Alkemie Jewels‘ natural and organic gemstone pendant. Debbie Fisher‘s baby-bead gemstone necklaces and earrings. Grandmother’s Buttons ‘s one of a kind rings. Sarah McGuire’s oxidized chain pendants. Robindira Unsworth‘s aquamarine-accented chains with baroque pearl pendants. Enjoy the visuals!
