Thank God for John Bartlett! The voice for “those without a voice” – animals – JB has just announced his latest cruelty-free collaboration, just in time for checking off someone with a conscience heating up your holiday list.
John’s capsule collection of fur-free themed T-shirts and thermals, created in conjunction with the Humane Society of the United States, features “Fur-free” emblazoned over a fox silhouette, with an Albert Schweitzer quote on the back of each piece:
The mission of the mini collection is to raise awareness about the fur-in-fashion industry, and the “inherent cruelty” which kills over 75 million animals a year for their fur. Bartlett envisions a world where fashion and compassion co-exist: “More and more customers are finally making the connection between a fur or fur-trimmed garment and the unnecessary suffering involved in the process and choosing a fur-free stance.”
We and the Humane Society concur. Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of The HSUS says: “John’s work proves the point that designers can do exceptional work without relying on fur. Indeed, what a stigma it is to work with fur and the cruelty associated with it.”
Tees cost $35, thermals $42 and are available exclusively through John Bartlett’s online store johnbartlettny.com. What are you waiting for? This is feel-good fashion for a great cause. Let the awareness-raising begin!
